Memebox Special 81 Next Best Thing In Skincare: Unboxing and Review!

This box came out at random in the middle of a bit of a Memedrought. I had planned to stay away from vague skincare themed boxes but I saw it and bought it, woops...

Click to see the info card
This was actually a really good box so I was pleased to get it after all. The intital description made it sound like an OMG style box, which I don't think it is.

The first difference between this box and other boxes is this does not have an information card. It instead has a printed card with a link which takes you to the online info card:

I hope Memebox don't stop doing cards as they are handy to have, rather than a webpage!

Here is the picture from the page of the items, and then my own picture of them:

I also received one of Memeboxes new Mememasks in my box. It is not listed as an item in the above picture but it does mention it at the bottom of the online info card. I don't think everyone got one though so I'm a bit confused by its random inclusion? Its a lovely hydrogel mask though so I won't complain!

So lets see what the next best thing in skincare really is!

1. Night Miracle Sleeping Pack x 2 $6
These were a choice of two from four, from egg, mango, pearl shell and avocado. I got egg and mango. I love sleeping packs and these are one use per pod. The packaging is kind of excessive for the size, and I'd have loved to have tried all four. The inside is designed to mimic the inside of the fruit/item variety.

Pretty pleased with the first product!

2. AHC Hologram Active Gen Serum 50ml $89
And there's the money item. $89 for a serum?! These are pricey though, but you can get them on eBay for around £25 so not quite $89, but still super fancy. The bottle has a hologram double helix-esque design in the middle and looks quite smart. It has a blend of ice fig, ginseng and collagen to help dry damaged ageing skin. I am so generous I have given this marvellous serum to Kitty as she is old. I know she loves collagen products and I am half hoping she sends me the utterly horrible* AHC serum from Brighten and Correct in return *hint hint*

*Disclaimer: That serum is wonderful. But not for Kitty's skin. No.

3. IASO Intensive Clear Conditioner Sheets 15 sheets $12
The info card says to use these after cleansing to maintain a silky complexion. I can only assume that means they are a toner sheet? They have salicylic acid to 'melt away' dead skin cells. I am not a big fan of using wipes on my face to be perfectly honest though. This products have a seven month shelf life from now until June 2015.

4. Blithe Patting Water Pack 5ml x 6
This is a sample set of 2 packets of each of Blithe's patting waters. I already received these in my Lucky 10 and I put the aloe mist in the picture to show how I personally use it. I really love the purple one, and the green is nice too! I am waiting for my next aloe mist to try it with the yellow! I think I will probably end up buying a full size of the Rejuvenating Purple Berry one. It smells like spraying Ribena on your face which is always a bonus.

5. Shara Shara Green Tea Seed Magic Balm 25ml $17
I got the Shara Shara Revital Magic Cream in another of my Memeboxes, Petit Treasures I believe. I actually really like that as an overnight spot treatment. It doesn't smell the greatest but it does the trick! This smells much nicer and is for dry patches on the face so I guess I can have different areas of my face with different balms at night. Much attractiveness. You can apparently use this on your lips, as a sleeping pack, as a foot/hand cream, a massage cream AND a highlighter (?) Its only a tiny tub so I cannot see it lasting long if you use it for all that!

6. Dr MJ Moisture Bounce Collagen Capsule Cream 50g $54
Another Dr MJ product but a pretty nice one! This is again going to Kitty as that face needs all the collagen it can get and I know she likes them! This has collagen capsules inside to firm up the sagging skin...

Overall a pretty fun box. All the items are good but I am gifting some away as they're not really me/I have ones I prefer. The value is also pretty high, but a few people were concerned with the relatively short expiration dates on some products. I didn't think they were particularly short dates with the shortest being 7 months so I did not mind. I paid $23 + $7 shipping and may have used a $5 code, I'm not sure! The value of this box is $186 (I just used $5 for the Blithe samples and $3 for the Mememask!) so a pretty high value and I don't think its particularly over inflated either.

Naturally this box is sold out but there are some fun boxes still available that restocked recently. If your order is over $30 you can use RQ6V9A for $5 off!

Happy shopping!

  2. This box seems to be far better than the Anniversary box which has quite blah products after all those huge claims.
